Community Chat #2 Notes

It’s been a while since we had our second Community Chat, our team have been traveling attending the Automattic’s Grand Meetup, but here comes the summary of our second chat where 22 people attended.

If case you missed this chat, you still can read the full backscroll of the dev chat here.

Ideas Board

Starting with feedback from our team regards UserVoice maintenance, it’s not abandoned, there’s teams working on it, also we’ll pick some ideas to start work on 3.8 and 3.9 from there.

WooCommerce 3.8

Currently we are changing our release process, doing small releases, better tested in many servers, and releasing more quickly, also 3.8 is planned to release in first week of November.

More news about WooCommerce 3.8 should come soon.

Products and Orders flat tables

We asked the community about their tests with “Orders Custom Tables” plugin and “Products Custom Tables” plugin, but the general feeling is what “Orders Custom Tables” works just fine, despite a few people not comfortable for this plugin not be kept by WooCommerce team, something that we are currently working on bring it more closely, but the feelings for “Products Custom Tables” is like it’s abandoned, so we started to maintain, updating and fixing bugs, and a new beta version should come soon.

So I like to ask for the community to keep following this posts, soon we’ll post about this new beta, and I’ll thanks everyone who can help.

GraphQL

We had a briefing talk about GraphQL in this last chat, we have studied the possibility of including support on WooCommerce, but for now we prefer wait for WordPress Core, there’s also a Trac ticket already started.

Till Next Chat!

Thanks again to all whom attended. If you have any ideas on how to make our chats more helpful, or if you have a question/topic you would like to discuss, please leave a note in the comments below.
