Meet the new WooCommerce Home

The upcoming WooCommerce 4.3 release on July 7th introduces a brand-new Home screen. The current dashboard does a great job helping a merchant stay on top of the statistics and data that matter most to a store, but we want to go beyond that. In the new Home experience, merchants can navigate to any area of their stores; find information about WooCommerce, store achievements, and useful content; and stay on top of store stats, all in one spot.

The new Home Screen in WooCommerce

A sneak peek of whatโ€™s included

Inbox

The Inbox was already available via the Activity Panel. Now youโ€™ll also find it on the new Home screen — and it includes a โ€œdismissโ€ option, so store owners can close out the messages and reduce on-screen clutter.

Stats Overview

Use this for a quick overview of a storeโ€™s most important performance indicators, as defined by the store owner. Select up to six data points — choose from options like Total Sales, Orders, or Items sold — for quick access to detailed reports on each metric.

Store Management

The Store Management area offers quick access to some of the most important areas of a store, such as adding products or editing specific settings. Future enhancements to the Home screen include the abilities to accomplish tasks like fulfilling orders and tweak specific settings without ever leaving the screen.

Accessing the new Home

The new WooCommerce Home will be the default home screen for all new stores as of WooCommerce 4.3, which comes out on July 7th. If you have an existing store, you get to decide when to start using it: it will be disabled by default, and you can enable it by heading to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features.

Weโ€™re just getting started

This is just the beginning of a Home experience that will help merchants effectively manage day-to-day operations from one central,  customized home screen. A Home that evolves with their business.

Weโ€™re keen to hear your feedback. Feel free to share your ideas on our Ideas Board or on the GitHub repository where weโ€™re building this new experience.

  1. I’m also happy to add that, if the fixes I suggested are applied to WC Admin (see previous comment: https://woocommerce.wordpress.com/2020/06/16/woocommerce-4-3-beta-1/#comment-6799), the stats widget in the new Home page will also work correctly. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Diego, thanks for the heads up. Can you send me the link to the GH issue in question? Thanks!

  2. A question about the current admin panel. When I look at ‘Stock’ at top right of the admin panel in WooCommerce/Dashboard – I see 25 low-stock items. But I don’t see them all. I have about 400 stock items and a few more than 25 that are low stock. What controls how many items one sees in ‘Stock’?

    1. Hi David, the Stock panel displays Products that are either Low Stock or Out of Stock. You can fine-tune your Low Stock and Out of Stock thresholds in WooCommerce – Settings – Products – Inventory: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/#inventory-options

Let me know if you have more questions.

      1. Yes, thank you. It’s not the thresholds that I am querying but the total number of low stock or out of stock items that I see displayed. I see 25 items listed currently, but I know that the actual number of low or out of stock items is greater than this. Is there a way to control the total number items displayed there?

Also on a related topic, when I go to WooCommerce / Products, I can filter for ‘in stock/out of stock/backorder’ – but I don’t see any way to filter for low stock. Therefore what I have to do is to scroll ‘all stock’ and look for the ones that are low stock.

        1. Hey David, here it goes my feedback:

          • Currently, we don’t provide a way to control the number of products displayed in the Stock panel, but we’re thinking about adding pagination, in order to display more than 25 products.
          • We also don’t provide a low stock filter in the products list.

Both can be great improvements to the current experience. I’d suggest you share them on our Ideas Board or GitHub repository.

          1. Thanks Pedro, I would be interested to do that. Can you give me the link for the Ideas Board?
