Fix for the fatal error when editing customer profile in WooCommerce 8.5

We have received reports from the community about a fatal error when trying to edit the customer profile with certain extensions installed. The error message may appear as Call to undefined function wc_add_notice() or Call to undefined function wc_notice_count().

How can I tell if this affects me?

You might encounter this issue when you have any of these extensions:

  • WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway (version 7.9.0)
  • Woo Subscriptions (version 5.9.0)

If you have them installed on your site, you might encounter the fatal error when you attempt to update a customer account through the Users page in the WordPress Admin Dashboard.

What action should I take?

If you are using the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin, please update it to version 7.9.1.

If you are using the Woo Subscriptions extension, please update it to version 5.9.1.

If they are not installed in your site but still encounter the fatal error, please do a plugin conflict test to see which of your installed plugins is causing the fatal error, and report it to the appropriate maintainers. You can use this guide to perform the plugin conflict test: How to do a conflict test.

Thank you
