WooCommerce 9.2.2: Dot Release

What’s in this release

Two changes in WooCommerce 9.2 and 9.2.1 caused unexpected behavior with the WooCommerce iOS app and third-party plugins. This release reverts those changes.

WooCommerce 9.2 modified how the wc/v3/system_status REST API endpoint returned info about active plugins, with a plugin’s full path being returned, rather than just the slug. This caused the WooCommerce iOS app to be unable to check for plugin availability. To fix this issue, we have reverted this change. The wc/v3/system_status endpoint remains available for use.

Select2 – the library that WooCommerce uses for select boxes – was also dropped in favour of SelectWoo. While we didn’t expect this to cause compatibility issues, we received reports from the community that this change wasn’t fully backwards compatible with certain third-party plugins. Therefore, we have reverted this change. We will continue to explore backwards-compatible ways to mitigate this in the future.
