  1. I think a VAT/TAX number field should be provided out of the box, required/optional/hidden. Lots of B2Bs need that, and many need to reduce or zero the tax in case of a valid number.

    If EU, it should query the VIES database to make sure the number is correct in the first place. I have this custom coded.

    As per Italian law, also, we need additional checkout fields as we need to file specific additional data with the Italian tax system. Yeah, what a pain!

    In regard to tax settings, I think the “tax class” thing is confusing to store managers, as well as the default “stardard rates” and “reduced rates” etc. I see that much easier:

    (1) where do you pay taxes? And are you an individual or business?
    (2) [based on choices] these are the recommended settings: —–
    (3) edit

      Would the functionality we have on our EU VAT Number for WooCommerce be more or less what you’re looking for as part of an improved tax handling in WooCommerce Core?

      As per Italian law, also, we need additional checkout fields as we need to file specific additional data with the Italian tax system.

      Are these fields relevant for B2B or also for B2C? Where can I find more information on these?

        Is that a new plugin? I don’t remember seeing it when I was looking for a solution previously

    For B2B in EU, we have to use this kind of plugin to comply: https://www.simbahosting.co.uk/s3/product/woocommerce-eu-vat-compliance/

    Out of the box, WooCommerce is not able to manage VAT when selling in the entire EU area.

  3. You need to add custom payment API, not only Paypal. Your floating sale page is blocking the content page.

  4. Would love to have the option to have the tax report calculations done by Order Date rather than Payment Completion Date so it falls in the right month, quarter, year.

    It’s perhaps due to our specific use case that we need it but it would be awesome to have the choice on how the financial data is being aggregated in the reporting.

    And as already mentioned, better built in support for the EU VAT compliance rules.
