Payment gateways typically support a wide range of payment methods, including credit cards, digital wallets, and alternative payment methods.
Some third-party payment methods temporarily route users off-site before completing the purchase process, and shoppers hesitate when the “Place Order” button is generic or vague, leading to delays in the checkout process.
To improve user experience and set clear expectations, we’re exploring allowing extension developers to customize the “Place Order” button to reflect the selected payment option. This alignment between the button and the next step will help shoppers understand what to expect and make them more comfortable proceeding with the checkout process. This work also includes creating a set of guidelines focused on button styling and UI specifications to ensure a cohesive shopping experience.
