WooCommerce 3.1 RC1

Today, the release candidate for WooCommerce 3.1 is available! 3.1 is a minor release with several improvements and some new features, including a new CSV importer for products.

Shipping a release candidate (RC) means we think we’re done but we’d like your help testing in case we’ve missed something. We hope to ship WooCommerce 3.1 on Wednesday, June 28th.

To test WooCommerce 3.1 RC1, you can use our WooCommerce Beta Tester plugin or you can download the release candidate here (zip).

Since 3.1 is now in release candidate stage, only bug fixes will be made. No other changes should take place.

Think you’ve found a bug? Please post in detail to Github.

For more information about what’s new in 3.1, check out the beta 1 announcement.

Developers, 3.1 is a minor release, so it should be fully backwards compatible. Despite this, it’s still a good idea to test your plugins and themes and help us catch any issues we may have missed before the final release.

  1. That’s good news! Would you be so kind to point me to the developer docs for the CSV Import/Export feature? I would like to extend it with extra fields, and I thought I had the link to the documentation somewhere, but I can’t find it. Thanks.

  2. Does this feature replace the Product CSV Import Suite plugin? Are the product images still mapped to products with this new feature in core when products are imported? The documentation in the link above doesn’t go into detail about how product images are handled.

    1. Images are still mapped/imported to the gallery by URL. This will probably replace Product CSV Import Suite medium term.

Having a product export and import CSV set of solid features in WC core is a great thing.

There is any hook that will be trigered when admin publish a customer note (for customer)? Something like “woocommerce_new_customer_note” but what I want is “woocommerce_new_customer_note_for_customer” ? Thanks

    1. use standard WordPress comment hooks.

  5. Hi, question: is there a solution for the old variations sorting-issue? Sorting in backend doesn´t show on frontend and any change and saving confuses the backend order again. So improvement on that?
