WooCommerce 9.4 Release Update

Hi, everyone! We have an update regarding the release of WooCommerce 9.4. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to adjust our release schedule.

New release date

WooCommerce 9.4, originally planned for October 21, 2024, will now be released on Monday, November 4, 2024.

Why we’re making this change

The primary reason for this adjustment is to align our release with the upcoming WordPress 6.7, scheduled for November 12, 2024. This decision offers several benefits:

  1. Improved WordPress Compatibility: Releasing after the WordPress 6.7 Release Candidate allows us to thoroughly test WooCommerce 9.4 against the latest WordPress version.
  2. Up-to-Date Compatibility: We’ll be able to update the “Tested up to” field to WordPress 6.7 with confidence.
  3. Extended Quality Assurance: The additional time provides an opportunity for more comprehensive testing and refinement.

What this means for you

  • Beta Releases: Will continue as scheduled, providing ample time for testing and feedback.
  • Subsequent Releases:
    • WooCommerce 9.5 is targeted for December 9, 2024.
    • WooCommerce 9.6 is scheduled for January 13, 2025.

These dates have been chosen to avoid major holiday periods and ensure the team has adequate time for development and testing. For more dates, check out our release calendar.

Your understanding and support mean a great deal to us. We believe this adjustment will result in a more robust and reliable WooCommerce 9.4, better serving the needs of our diverse community.

Thank you for being an integral part of the WooCommerce ecosystem. We’re excited to bring you the improvements and features in WooCommerce 9.4 on November 4th.

  1. Thank you for aligning the future releases outside of the holidays!

  2. How Shopify describes:

    “Shopify launches more new features than WooCommerce…
    Shopify has released hundreds of product updates, twice a year, through Editions since 2021 — with a focus on making commerce better for everyone. In contrast, WooCommerce’s roadmap is sparse.”

    So this post for 9.4, ambition on the new update?
    Ok let’s see…

    “WordPress Compatibility”. It’s just now compatible with WP? Serious?
    What this point means? In the future will become a single app?
    “Up-to-Date Compatibility”.
    This is normal on each WP update, is this an important topic?
    “Extended Quality” … is like smoke.
    Should be always with quality on the final version release. Beta released versions are for testing.

    What are the New Features available?

    New area for Customer Relationship Management (CRM);
    New multi-language function built-in?
    New drag-n-drop functions built-in?
    New editable form built-in: for popup, contact, user registration, b2b registration, for customer support, etc;
    New attributes for product filtering. Sizes, dimensions, full product customisation, images, colors, patters, scrolling functions, combinations …
    New B2B functions and features;
    New Shop Users attributes;
    New product tags for campaigns and promotions;
    New Cross selling options;
    New Shop Newsletter functions;

    please focus on having more options for Woo become a wide and better system on the market. Ambition is to fight to be placed on number #1 and not the number 2, 3 or 10….
