    Resolved

This incident has been resolved. WooCommerce Subscriptions 8.6.1 includes a patch for the renewal state issue described below. A Subscriptions Health Check tool is also shipping later this week, giving merchants a direct view into subscription renewal states across their store.

    Update

WooCommerce Subscriptions 8.6.1 has been released, addressing the renewal state issue identified in this incident. The patch corrects a gap in the plan-switching logic that could prevent affected subscriptions from correcting their renewal state during a same-gateway upgrade or downgrade. A related issue where switching to a different gateway could incorrectly flip a manual-renewal subscription to automatic has also been fixed.

Update to WooCommerce Subscriptions 8.6.1 from Dashboard → Updates.

A Subscriptions Health Check tool is shipping later this week in a follow-up patch release. It will let merchants scan their store for subscriptions that may have been affected, review them, and apply fixes directly — without making automatic changes to customer accounts.

    Investigating

We’ve identified a bug in WooCommerce Subscriptions where the subscription switcher does not clear the manual renewal flag during same-gateway plan changes. Subscriptions that were incorrectly set to manual renewal remain stuck after upgrades or downgrades, even when the customer has a valid payment method on file.

A patch is in progress. A diagnostic tool will be released this week to help merchants identify and review any affected subscriptions.

WooCommerce 10.3 was released on October 22.

    Investigating

Due to a conflict discovered earlier this week in our internal release candidate testing, we’re pausing the WooCommerce 10.3 rollout with a tentative release date of Wednesday, October 22.

    Resolved

WooCommerce 10.2.1 has been released. 10.2.1 is considered the first stable release version of WooCommerce 10.2.

    Update

We’ve identified that the conflict with the AMP plugin was caused by an update to Emogrifier (v8). To ensure stability, we’ve downgraded Emogrifier back to v7, and the fix has been merged into trunk. A backport to the 10.2 release line is in progress, and we’ll ship it as part of WooCommerce 10.2.1.

    Investigating

Due to conflicts with Amp plugin for WordPress, we’re reverting the stable tag for WooCommerce to 10.1.2 and are working on a 10.2.1 release. Check the developer blog for more updates.
