The WooCommerce 9.8 release schedule is being revised to more closely align with the release of WordPress 6.8.
Hi, folks! We have an important update regarding the release of WooCommerce 9.8 and our previously announced delay of the release candidate.
To better align our testing schedule with WordPress core, we’re delaying the release of WooCommerce 9.8 RC
by an additional week to Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 (Edit: An earlier version of this post had originally stated Monday, March 31st).
As a result, the release of WooCommerce 9.8 is now scheduled for Monday, April 7th, 2025.
To see all release dates, check out our release calendar.
Reason for delay
The first release candidate of WordPress 6.8 is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025. In consideration of the compatibility issues with WordPress 6.8-beta1
, we are going to give our internal teams a chance to run additional tests against a full release candidate of WordPress core, rather than a beta, as our previous schedule would’ve allowed.
What happens next?
We will check back in on April 1st, 2025, with the release of WooCommerce 9.8 RC. As of now, the WooCommerce 9.9 release schedule remains unaffected.
As always, we’ll keep you informed of any developments through this blog.
Thank you
We appreciate your support and contributions. Thank you for being patient and understanding as we work towards delivering the WooCommerce 9.8 release.
