Today, the release candidate for WooCommerce 3.4 is available! 3.4 is a minor release with several improvements and some new features.
Shipping a release candidate (RC) means we think we’re done but we’d like your help testing in case we’ve missed something. We hope to ship WooCommerce 3.4 on Wednesday, May 23rd.
What’s new
For more information about features and changes in 3.4, check out the beta 1 announcement and this post detailing all of the GDPR features.
A few months ago we ran a survey and feedback request about how people use the product type column in the admin Products screen. The results were overwhelmingly that the column does not get used, and the product type filter works better than the icons for finding products of a specific product type.
We have removed the the column from the admin screen and made it available as a feature plugin for anyone that still wants or needs the product type column.
Testing
To test WooCommerce 3.4 RC1, you can use our WooCommerce Beta Tester plugin or you can download the release candidate here (zip).
Since 3.4 is now in release candidate stage, only bug fixes will be made. No other changes should take place.
Think you’ve found a bug? Please post in detail to Github.
Developers, 3.4 is a minor release, so it should be fully backwards compatible. Despite this, it’s still a good idea to test your plugins and themes and help us catch any issues we may have missed before the final release.
