WooCommerce 11.0 has been released. Over at the WooCommerce blog, Woo Artistic Director Beau Lebens wrote about our focus on cleaning up the GitHub backlog. With 551 PRs, this is one of the largest WooCommerce releases in recent history. I recommend reading that post. As an open source project, we’re grateful to everyone who contributes, from submitting pull requests to opening new issues.
Performance for stores that scale
Performance work in WooCommerce 11.0 really shines for stores with large catalogs or a deep archive of orders. We’ve focused on optimizing under-the-hood queries, Store API improvements, and better handling of stock status through the order process.
Guest checkout gets smarter
WooCommerce has allowed post-checkout account creation since 9.5. In WooCommerce 11.0, customers can now find previous orders and connect them to their user account with email validation.
Analytics reporting improves reliability
Analytics events tracking gets more reliable, refunds are now calculated into sales API endpoints, and failed historical data imports get more visibility with the ability to retry failed imports.
Developer updates
This release is full of developer updates, including experimental features like Abandoned Cart emails, block-based email editing, and the new Settings UI. This release marks the full deprecation of the Product Editor Beta, and will also upgrade the internal dependency to Action Scheduler 4.0.0.
