WooCommerce 5.6 Release Schedule

About a year ago, we announced that we would be shifting to a monthly release cycle for WooCommerce core. As we mentioned in the past, this shift was part of a longer journey toward smaller, more frequent, and more stable releases, with fewer fix releases.

As a general rule, our aim has been to publish final releases on the second Tuesday of each month. For WooCommerce 5.6, this schedule will be shifting back by one week. Take a look at the table below for more information about the timeframe of the planned release milestones for WooCommerce 5.6.

VersionPlanned Release Date
BetaTuesday, July 27, 2021
Release CandidateTuesday, August, 3, 2021
Final ReleaseTuesday, August, 17, 2021

This shift will not be permanent and should not impact the timeframe for subsequent releases. We anticipate a return to the customary second-Tuesday release for WooCommerce 5.7 in September. You can read more about the different steps in the WooCommerce Core release process in this article. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to leave us questions in the comments below or reach out to us in the WooCommerce Community Slack.

When each release is scheduled, do you have a list of any template files that will be changed in that release? I have many customized templates and it would be very helpful to know when I will need to make any adjustments.
