Update April 17: WooCommerce 8.8 has been released as WooCommerce 8.8.2. Learn more here.
Note: WooCommerce 8.8 release has been further delayed due to an issue detected during testing. To ensure stability and give our teams time to fix this, we will roll out the release as 8.8.2 on the week of April 15 instead. Check our updated release post for more details.
Hi, folks! We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we strive to bring you the best possible updates to WooCommerce.
We have an important update regarding the release of WooCommerce 8.8.
Initially scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, 2024, we’ve decided to postpone the release to Monday, April 15, 2024. This decision was made with the goal of ensuring the highest quality and stability for the upcoming release.
Reason for delay
We’ll be migrating Woo.com back to WooCommerce.com on Tuesday, April 9th from 08:00 to 11:00 UTC. This migration includes all subdomains, including this blog.
Google’s recent algorithm update, which was one of the largest in history, has effectively stalled out the SEO recovery from our domain migration to Woo.com. As a result, the Woo team has decided to revert our default domain name from Woo.com back to WooCommerce.com.
To ensure a smooth transition and allow for comprehensive post-migration testing, we’re taking a cautious approach by not releasing WooCommerce 8.8 on the same day. We greatly appreciate your patience while we work through the final details!
What happens next?
To steer clear of any complications with the Woo.com to WooCommerce.com migration, we will be releasing WooCommerce 8.8 on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. As always, we’ll keep you informed of any developments through this blog.
We’ll have additional information on the domain migration starting to go out today and Monday.
Thank you
Your ongoing support and cooperation means the world to us. Thank you for being patient and understanding as we work towards delivering the WooCommerce 8.8 release.
