July Office Hours: Testing the new Settings UI for extensions

WooCommerce is moving settings pages from the legacy PHP renderer to React, and extension developers can opt in now. This month, we’re walking through the new Settings UI, the LegacySettingsPageAdapter, and how to test your existing settings pages against the new renderer.

What to expect:

Join me and @daniel-mallory to explore the new Settings UI that sits behind the settings-ui feature flag. It renders opted-in settings pages through a React shell while keeping your existing WooCommerce settings array and save flow intact. We’ll cover how the adapter converts your settings array into the new schema, which field types render natively, and where custom React components come in.

Why join?

This is opt-in testing, which means your feedback directly shapes the renderer, schema conversion, and compatibility behavior before it moves beyond the flag. The developers who test now are the ones whose edge cases get handled.

Come with questions about your settings pages, field types that misbehave, or ideas for custom components. We’re here to dig in.

Don’t miss out—join us next Wednesday, July 15 , 2026 at 12:00 PM EST/ 9:00 AM PST!

NOTE: We moved the time and date of this Office Hours session to accommodate more timezones. If you can’t be there but would like to contribute, please send us a DM of your questions on slack, or reply to this post – we will make sure you question is heard!
